Blueberry-Ginger Smoothie

This is one of my favorite breakfasts – super healthy with protein, anti-oxidants and full of flavor. Hot coffee and a cold smoothie is a contrast I truly enjoy in the morning.

Blueberry-Ginger Smoothie

Prep Time 15 minutes
Servings 1 serving

Equipment

  • 1 paring knife
  • 1 small cutting board
  • 1 blender (I love my Ninja!)
  • 1 rubber spatula (to get all of it!)
  • 1 pint glass

Ingredients
  

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almond milk I prefer Vanilla Unsweetened, but any plant-based milk is fine
  • 1 knob ginger peeled and sliced before putting in the blender
  • 1 Tbsp. ground flaxseed
  • 1 Tbsp. chia seeds
  • 4-5 whole walnuts
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 4 frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 banana I peel and freeze mine at my optimal ripeness
  • 1 scoop Orgain Vanilla protein powder Optional
  • 1 handful fresh spinach about a cup
  • 4-5 ice cubes

Instructions
 

Method of Preparation

  • Place everything into a blender.
  • Blend until very smooth and fully blended. (I usually do the automatic time x 3)

Notes

You can substitute the berries for whatever fruit you like.
